Woodhead Shepherds Hut is self catering accommodation for two and is situated on Woodhead of Mailer Farm, Perth just in front of the farmhouse. The farm is run by the third generation of McFadzeans’. They breed beef cattle and have Blackface and cross sheep, finishing all their stock to supply local butchers. The hut surrounded by nature and farm animals, the wildlife and birds in the locality is varied and in abundance and we have foxes, deer, badgers, pheasants and buzzards, to name a few, that frequent our area. If you are lucky, you may even see a red squirrel.

Location

The farm is situated only 1 mile from the edge of Perth and 10 mins drive gets you into the centre. The hut has the most stunning views over Strathearn, with Bridge of Earn to the East and Forgandenny to the West and taking a walk to the top of the hill gives glorious views down the valley towards Auchterarder. We are ideally situated to give you the experience of the countryside yet close to the city of Perth. Only 45mins from Glasgow and Edinburgh.

The hut has all the amenities required for a very comfortable stay. A fully equipped kitchen with a small cooker and a hob, fridge freezer, a double bed with underbed storage and a toilet and shower room. There are USB chargers, Wi-Fi and a television. There is an outdoor sitting area with a BBQ.

If you do not fancy cooking Hazel McFadzean runs a catering business, Hazelnuts Catering, and will supply you with freezer ready or fresh meals if required.
